Picked up car for child # 2. Has his permit and gets license in December. Picked up 2004 gtp for decent price.

Does it have a supercharger? My buddy in high school had a late 90's one with the blower on a 3.8L. It was quick

those are cool cars...had that year Bonneville supercharged. Nice riding car and 3.8 was one of gm's better motors IMO. If thought maybe some of these came with v8 too...5.3? Impala ss that year believe was a 5.3

Yup! very cool 60° v6! That motor was proven in the Grand Nationals and the Regal T-types in the 80's.

This one has the series three super charged 3.8 We also have an 04 impala SS with the series two super charged 3.8. The Grand Prix needs a little TLC. Figured it would be good car for him to learn a few things on. He is a motor head too.

The 5.3 was put in the 06 impala ss and Grand Prix GXP. The Bonneville GXP had the not so good 4.6 Northstar V8

cool and fast car,i lost my licence for 1 year from 7 speeding tickets in my gtp.. they did make one with the same v8 motor as the 2007 monte ss,they were black and always had red calipers, keep an eye on the 1/4 panel under the gas lid door, thats what always rust out bad.easy to weld a patch in there if you dont let it go to far.also check the color code ,looks like it might be a 3 stage veeeery expensive paint.just send me the paint code and i can tell you.great car.you can also give the gm dealer the last 8 #of vin and they can tell you.very nice

Cool car, I am sure he is LOVING it!

Gawd...do you guys remember that feeling of your first car? I can STILL feel it, 40+ years later!
'72 Chevelle. I can still remember that awesome feeling of...freedom, confidence...I dunno...words fail me now. It was just SO cool driving that car and saying to myself, "Wow...I can go places, do what I want to do now...this is SO cool!"

Well after a month of driving, engine is shot. Nothing he did wrong, just started making a lot of noise and I found metalic flakes in the oil filter. Whoever owned this before must had not taken good care of it. I checked everything over before bought it, but i guess there are somethings that are hard to find. I see it has had new intake gaskets put on it, so maybe before gaskets were changed it got water in the oil?? Just depends on how close an owner pays attention to there vehicle.
