    1999 Hammer Length

Iím looking at a 1999 Hammer. The seller notes its 22í but everything I see says 21í. Was it offered in 2 different lengths? Also, is there anything else I should look for?

I would spend some money and have a survey done if I were buying a used boat. I don't believe they were offered in different lengths.
Because without beer things just dont seem to go as well

    21.33' is the 'official' length.

Some people will "up-length" when describing their boat if it is even an inch over the 'foot mark'.

The Hammer is a popular boat and a great performer. As with any boat of the vintage you're talking about, wood rot is a key concern, so Anchorman's reply is spot on. Also, where was the boat used; fresh or salt water? What power?
How many hours? How was the boat stored (inside...outside)?
I've helped a lot of people buy boats over the past 30 years, and one thing that stands out to me time and time again is simply...how does the boat look? Especially in the engine bay or inside the cuddy cabin if equipped. If the boat is kept meticulously clean, you can expect it to have had overall better than normal' general maintenance. However, even the BEST maintained boat can have unseen water damage. So...yeah, a clean survey would help ease one's mind on any purchase.

Thanks for the advice, Iím planning to have a mechanic look at it. It has 150 hours and looks to be in great shape. It was stored indoors in a heated shop itís whole life. Iíve always had direct drives and v drives so this will be my first IO.

150 hours? Jeebus...I thought MY boat was low hours at 300 for a 1992 model!
Sounds like you've got a potential winner there...good luck!
