    Baja 260cd 1994 Gen V 454 Mag Power Steering

Well so after getting back in to the engine coffin I was finally able to get the last of the exhaust manifold bolts cut, drilled, cussed, and broken loose.

I seem to have found that the head gasket looks like it was blown on the two different cylinder walls and almost a third making three of four cylinders to have very low to almost no compression.

Not certain as to how all of a sudden i ran into this issue but I am very glad that the engine malfunction seems to be a very minor issue and should be fairly easy to get back into good shape..

Does anyone have a starboard side exhaust manifold in good shape that they can donate to me or sell to me at a good price?

Looking for suggestions on the next steps to take with this unexpected project.

At the very least, you should take the head in and have it checked out. Make sure it’s not warped. You said it was making a loud noise. That would concern me. It looks like #6 wasn’t firing at all, so all that fuel was just washing down the cylinder walls and making its way down into the oil. How does the oil smell?

    Update....

Heads are out of town getting magna fluxed and milled, then will be ported and polished and valves should get lapped after that.

In the mean time locally the exhaust headers and valve covers are being blasted and powder coated...

Tired of not being back in the water after having a new trailer made and various other new parts being installed....

Think about hydro-dip the valve covers

    Wow that looks cool

Do you think it would hold up better than powder coating?

I would think the powder coat would be more durable but you can do so much more with the hydro-dip
my covers are going on three years and look the same as when they did them, the hydro is a base paint (maybe even power coat) graphics and then clear
