    Prop

Friend went from a standard 454 310/330 HP in his 24' Baja........19 pitch Mirage prop.............to a new 454/stroker to 496 with 425 HP.....We are going to stick it in the water for a trial run this week-end'''''''Over the years I noted a lot of 496/425 HP boats had a 4 blade prop....Anyone know the pitch??? Is this the prop he will need???.....
I loaned him my old 21 p Mirage to try........

    Thanks.. Mike....Tampa Bay...........

All trial and error my friend. But you’ll need a place to start. I believe the 21” will be too small on pitch for that kind of power. I’m thinking a minimum of 23”mirage plus, 24” Bravo1, get your numbers, then go from there. Try to borrow anything you can get your hands on! BBlades has a test program. Call them to get an idea of what you’ll need and should test.

Assuming the drive is a Bravo 1:5 ratio, I'm with SeaNyle on the 23/24

    Is your 25 a M+ ?
If it is try the 23M+ get your numbers at different rpm
Then run the 25 and get those numbers
    Then call Brett at Bblades

    Re: Prop

My prop is a 25 mirage....But I can't give him that cause that sits on my zz 502/502.....I can let him try my 23 and then my 25 and if the 25 is better , he can buy one...

    Re: Prop

The REV 22 or 23 will the be the best for that power and boat from a stock prop. Brett will tell you that a labbed 24P Bravo 1 is the best. A labbed 23pM+ is also very good, with arguably the best top speed, but out of the hole and midrange will not be as good as a labbed Bravo 1. You have to ask your self what do you want more out of a prop. If you don't care about top speed, then a labbed B1 or REV is your best bet.
