    23 outlaw cooling system?

I noticed after this weekend that my coolant was a little low in overflow tank, I would say about a half a gallon low, But the boat ran great operating temps were normal. Do I have any kind of problem? Or is this normal? It is a 496 with about 103hrs. And the impeller was just changed about a month ago.

I'd keep a eye on it. If it keeps going down then I'd have it checked. On the closed cooling on the 496 its just like your car if coolant is disappearing it means there's a issue. The impeller brings in the lake water which goes through a heat exchanger which is what is cooling your oil and coolant.

I just went and got some Anti-freeze the orange kind for the boat and it took alot less then I thought to bring to full when cold line about a cupfull. I guess the way the tank is shaped it looked as if needed alot more. I will keep a eye on it. Thx

I know on my 25 with the HO if the boat was at any angle it looked low. Only taking a cup of antifreeze is not a bad deal at all. Maybe you just got it hot running on the St Johns. I am sorry that I missed that. The last time I met up with you guys on that weekend it was great.
Because without beer things just dont seem to go as well

have you ran it since the impellar was changed if not they might not have gotten it filled completely up or had a small air bubble in it that just needed to get worked out

I've had to add about that much to mine once before. Typical runs for me can be at or close to 4000 rpms for 45 minutes straight or more. I figure it just got a lil warm and ate it up. I always check it since then and it hasn't moved.

It was in the middle of summer when I noticed mine a lil low..........upper 90s and high water temps so I'm sure it gets a lil warm. I've never had the engine get hot put I would think on long runs like that it has to heat that coolant a good bit.
