Blackhawks only worked on a few boats. Parts are supposedly very hard to find. I do not know of any Bajas that left the factory with B-hawk drives.

Some boats they did work on were the 29 Scarab with twin 350's and I have seen them work well on some smaller Donzis such as the 18 and 22. They tended to work best on boats that ran a bit bow high as they added stern lift. Since they are somewhat of a semi-surfacing drive, they were set up at high X dimensions so you really needed a notched transom or pad. The upper is basically a Bravo 1 upper.

That's what I know of them also. They gave you nothing when trimming them out to carry the nose of the boat, so you needed a model that had a pretty set running attitude. If you let off the throttle in a turn, the boat went straight like a jet ski. A Merc. tech told me that they messed-up and developed all the props in the same series of sizes as Mir, B1's, ect. (like 19p thru 34p) and they should have started around 34's and went well into the 40p with lower gearing?
