    Help me out.

So before I bought the boat someone put nose cones on the drives. They did kind of a crap job because now the filler is starting to fall off. I know your not supposed to use bondo on a boat because it swells. What is it that I need to use to redo these so they look good again?

I'd have to say grind all the bondo off and then prep it by roughing up the area. Then mix you up some epoxy and add some filler to it to thicken it up. Let it harden and then shape it. Afterwards seal it and paint it. You could use JB Weld instead of epoxy, but would think it be harder to work with.

Actually Dave (Liquid)...man, 3 Daves commenting...what are the odds... Anyway, Do you really need nose cones on that boat? I remember reading articles that unless you are running ungodly horsepower and modified X's etc that they will slow you down... Why not do a test (if possible) when you grind the filler out...take the nose cones off....clean up the lowers...run it...and see if you gain anything? Just a hunch....

I had one on my Outlaw. It was put in place with some JB weld and then tacked in place. I used something called All Metal to do the filler work and gave it some coats of a good zinc primer before painting. It held up fine. Good luck.
