Well my season ended Saturday... on a bad note!

Took the boat out for a final outing, and it ran great for the first half of the day. Stopped and ate lunch on the water, come back, start the boat and all seems well. Idle out of the channel and go to punch it, and it starts popping and banging!!! Limped it back and got into it a little bit on Sunday.

Found signs of water in the spark plugs for cylinders #2-4-6-8, I then decided to run a compression test, and well it didn't do so well in school. All of the cylinder in that bank were less than 50psi, two cylinders being zero or close to it! #1-3-5-7 all at 150psi. No signs of water on those plugs.

I am assuming that the riser to manifold gasket let go internally and water went pouring into the engine, most likely bending the valves.

That is my season ending story.

Motors coming out soon, and I will define the damage, and most likely upgrade the top end before she goes back in. Just thought everyone should know the news!! lol cant do anything but laugh about it now...

No it definitely from the guy I got it from, this was on my end. The motor was strong, and had no problems at all. I had my own exhaust to put on it, and that's what did I think. Definitely was a good deal from the guy I got it from, and it had not been opened it still had the tags on it.

Just gonna get into it and figure out what I want to do, most likely upgrade top end while its out.

Man, sorry to hear all that Scott... I know you put a ton of time and effort into making your go-fast "GO-FAST".

I know when I had the IMCO's on my 502 they leaked and I had to tq. them every time almost...change gaskets, re-surface them etc... Water reversion (I am assuming from what you are describing) really sucks. If there is a bright side....re-build it bigger and badddddder! Holler if you need anything bro....
