EPA approves 15% use of ethanol

Looks like it's time to buy nothing but premium.

The owners manual on my 2008 E85 Chevy says NOT to mix in, or top off "regular gas" with E85. Either one or the other, which says to me a little different recipe ISN'T a good thing. My mileage also drops off as much as 25% burning E85. Why can't they just leave sh!t alone, corn wasn't meant for burning.

Its going to be a special pump.. Just like it says in 2007 and later vehicles.. Wont be able to mandate it for all vehicles until further testing is done, we have some time I think. Because if they are allowing it but not requiring it, then who the hell is going to make the switch? I doubt many gas stations are going to do it unless they are forced too, and if they want to continue to sell E10 to those who want it, which is everything pre 2007 for the time being, that would mean they need to install a new tank. Lots of money for the station to invest, in this economy, good luck unless they are getting govt. support.

Get ready because this will be followed up by 25% ethanol "E25" as well. Talking to some inside people I know way up in the gasoline biz it is a cluster... Also the E15 cannot be totally derived from corn....only 10% is allowed to be corn...so this will get interesting to see as well. Oh and E15 has more pollutants and the Govt. who is mandating all this is not offering any protection to the fuel companies from the EPA.... There is no protection for retailers in the works either. If you put "accidently" say E15 in anything and it messes up your motor....you can go after the retailer for selling it to you even though they are "suposidly" going to mark the pumps differently.

I can go wayyy on and on with this topic...I hear bout it almost every day and for sure every weekend. CRAZY!
