How often do you change your Seapump impeller/housing???

How often do you rebuild yours? I do mine every spring just to avoid downtime on the water along with all the chunks of little pieces of rubber going into the motor. 4-5 months of layup usually mine have cracks in them..Cheap insurance IMO

I'll show you how to take that backseat out and it makes life ALOT easier. I'm looking forward to going for a ride on your new toy.

Havent looked it over but looking forward to that lesson. Started engines for the first time yesterday. Thought i was having an impeller issue on port engine on 2nd firing of engine. 1st time around no problem. 2nd time no water out with temp starting to climb. Shut off and let cool down. Tried again and no problem. Good water flow and good temp. From what i was told, impellers changed 2 months ago. Will watch it on Sunday when we get out on the lake.

Keith not sure if your aware or not, but if you got low water pickup's(on nosecone) you have to put tape over those when running on hose or it'll suck air.

Found that out last week. Had duct tape over them. Hopefully it was just the muffs not centered over the holes good enough and not getting enough water up.

Can I just pull the housing off and have a look see at my impeller to see if needs to be changed? Only has about 60 hrs or so on it and I've never had any temp issues to date.

If your going to take it apart put a new imnpeller in it. I'm guessing it's cracked and ready to fall apart.

Put it in the box and save it and reinstall it when you sell it with 5hrs on it.
